I was created with a recipe from a St. Louis family that spans four generations. After baking hundreds of cakes for friends and family, it was about time to share the best gooey butter cake—Gooey Louie—with everyone else!
We started our gooey butter business during the Fall of 2006. We premiered Gooey Louie at the Missouri Botanical Garden's annual Best of Missouri Market.
Shortly after that, we decided to make gooey butter cakes our full-time job!
Our family-owned gooey butter cake bakery is located at 6483 Chippewa, just 1/2 mile east of Ted Drewes in the heart
of southwest St. Louis. Please stop by and watch how we hand-form each crust and work with only the finest ingredients such as butter, flour, farm fresh eggs, cream cheese and pure vanilla extract.
